WE STAND WITH...

Poise was in the air as Palestinians, Israelis, and a small group of foreigners marched on, beginning this weeks protests against occupation and the wall. The door remained shut. Among the demonstrators was a group of Israeli women from Tel Aviv who cried out to the soldiers in Hebrew, telling them to leave the villagers alone as this is their land. She clarified that Israeli schools neglect informing students about Palestinian history; many don't even know where the Green Line starts and ends. A few rocks were thrown back and forth, both by children from the village and trained/armed soldiers. As the demonstration came to a close the group reflected on the multitude of protests going on around the world, particularly in the United States.

We at Friends of Freedom and Justice and the Popular Committee send our prayers and support for Standing Rock; we believe the values and rights of indigenous people should not be disrespected or disregarded especially by corporations or the government. We must stand united as the battle against racism feels more prevalent than ever. Bans targeted at Muslim populated countries fuels misunderstandings, but we enthusiastically support the actions of Americans as they occupy airports all over the country. As an international community, no man, as orange as he may be, will penetrate our grit and perseverance for we will have justice.

We recently started a fundraiser for the university students of Bil'in. Please read their story- we believe that everyone has the right to access education.
