Approaching 12 Years of Peaceful Protests

Today's crowd approached the wall without interruption. It was the usual group, with a few more visitors anticipating the 12th year anniversary of these peaceful demonstrations that takes place next week. Anniversaries are always a fantastic opportunity to look back to see what has been sacrificed and what has been accomplished (I'll dive into that in next week's article). But for today, another one of Iyad Burnat's son was injured while participating in the demonstration. He visited the hospital and returned home soon after. It's easy to see where his sons get their ambition and distaste for authority.

Twelve years of demonstrations in Bil'in, with each generation proving themselves as strong as the prior, I look forward to see how this small village will continue their efforts against occupation and oppression.
